The masculine/feminine, knowledge about their biological and social natures, the many ways of thinking and speaking of the one and the other in short, the meaning of the anthropological dimorphism of sexuality – what today is called « Gender » -has become the subject matter of a number literary and cinematic works. The social sciences are not to be left behind when historians, sociologists, anthropologists, ethnologists (etc.) are churning out theories and studies in an attempt to discover new analytical tools to supersede the old ethical and religious precepts that were once the bread and butter of books on good manners.
